Why You Need to Take This MDS Online Course:
The State Operations Manual updates include staff competency, that require an MDS Coordinator to provide proof of formal training. Re: F726 States that the facility must ensure that the licensed nurses
have the specific competencies and skill sets necessary to care for
the resident's needs as identified through resident assessments, and described in the plan of care.
Federal § 483.21(b)(3)(ii) (Formerly F282) • Facility must ensure care/services are provided by individuals who have the skills, experience and knowledge to do a particular task or activity.
This proof of formal training in the Minimum Data Set (MDS) is being requested by the State Surveyors.
